Sixteen years after representing Australia at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games, Cameron Whittington is preparing for a remarkable return to the international stage at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

In the latest instalment of our Road to Glasgow 2026 series, Cameron reflects on the journey that has brought him back to elite Para Powerlifting after more than a decade away from international competition.

As a father of three, Cameron has balanced the demands of family life, work and high-performance sport while pursuing his goal of once again wearing the green and gold. Despite the challenges of stepping away from competition and rebuilding his career, his passion for Para Powerlifting and determination to compete at the highest level never disappeared.

Now, 16 years after his Commonwealth Games debut, Cameron is proving that perseverance, resilience and hard work can open the door to new opportunities, no matter how much time has passed.

His story is a powerful reminder that it's never too late to chase your goals and pursue your sporting dreams.
